Compressed Images

When working with NetAcquire technical support staff, you may be asked to capture a compressed image. The image will contain everything found on the active disk partition. If you are asked for a compressed image and have security concerns or limitations, please discuss these with your support representative; they can guide you on trimming the compressed image.

To create a support bundle, open the Debug -> Debugging Tools menu item to the server that will capture its image.

Next, click Compressed Image Save.

IMPORTANT: Pressing the Save Image button immediately triggers the image save sequence which takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. The server must not be powered off, restarted, or reconfigured during the save process.

Provide a name for the compressed image and press Save Image. The Disk 1 data (e.g., recordings) are optional.

After the save is complete, use an FTP client (set to transfer in binary mode) to download the compressed image .tar.bz2 file from the NetAcquire server. The image file is located in:

/netacquire/disk1/data/update/
